Lewis R. Ballenger, Jr.

Mr. Lewis R. Ballenger, Jr., 88, of Boiling Springs, South Carolina, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 6, 2024.

Mr. Ballenger was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina on December 17, 1935, the son of the late Myrtle Hayes Ballenger and Lewis R. Ballenger, Sr. He served in the US Navy during the Korea War Era and was a member of Northbrook Baptist Church.  He loved the Lord and his country.

Left to cherish his memory are wife, Carolyn Horton Ballenger; daughter, Angela B. Burrell (Daryl); sons, Lewis Kelly Ballenger and Bradford Owen Ballenger; sisters, Kathleen Edwards and Virginia Clayton (Charles); granddaughters, Dana Marie Smith (Rob) and Kendal Lea Adam (Bill); grandsons, Brandon Thor Ballenger and Hunter Jolley (Lacey); and four great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Lena Jean Bishop and a brother, Jimmy Ballenger.

A memorial service with military honors will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at Northbrook Baptist Church with Rev. Benny Green officiating.

The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service on Sunday, from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM.
