Laura Ashley Moore

Laura Ashley Moore, age 34 of Cliffside, NC, formerly of Waynesville, NC, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2023 at Atrium Health Cleveland in Shelby, NC. She was born December 6, 1988 in Buncombe County, NC to Kathy Ross Messer and Richard Moore. Laura was an example of what a Christian should be as she always had the love of God in her heart because she let it shine through to everyone she ever met. She had a larger than life personality and touched the hearts of everyone she ever met and. She had the natural ability to make a bad day better and a good day even brighter. Laura was a member of Cliffside Baptist Church where she was active with Kids Connection. She was a longtime attendee of Rutherford Life Services, active with the Aktion Club and was a member of the RLS Praise Team. Laura loved going to Camp Carefree in Stokesdale, NC.. Laura loved Jesus, her family and friends and Martina McBride.

Laura is survived by her parents; mother Kathy Ross Messer and bonus dad Allen Messer of Cliffside, NC, her father Richard Moore of Sylva, NC, brother Logan Moore and his wife Katie of Waynesville, NC, her niece Lila and her nephew Oliver, many extended family members and friends

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Dillard and Levon Moore, maternal grandparents Vince Ross and Lea Tiller Ross Bortell.

The family will receive friends from 12:30pm to 2:00pm on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Cliffside Baptist Church. The funeral service will be at 2:00pm at Cliffside Baptist Church with Reverend Mike Elgin officiating. Burial will follow in the Cleveland Memorial Park in Boiling Springs, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cliffside Baptist Church at P.O. Box 336 Cliffside, NC 28024, Rutherford Life Services at 230 Fairground Rd.
