Kevin Scott Sloan

Kevin Sloan, age 54 of Inman, SC, formerly of Whiting, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, July 17, 2026.

Born February 19, 1972, in Toms River, New Jersey he was a son of the late Ernest Sloan and Lorraine "Chickie" Sprague Sloan.

A graduate from Manchester Township High School, he worked as an auto mechanic before serving with New Jersey Forest Fire Service. He later found his long-term home with Ralph Clayton and Sons where he worked as a truck driver and eventually served as Sand Plant Manager.  Kevin was deeply committed to serving his community. A life member of the Whitings Volunteer Fire Company, he faithfully served in numerous leadership roles throughout the years, including Engineer, Captain, Assistant Chief, and Chief. He also volunteered with the Whitings First Aid Squad, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.

In 2020, Kevin and his wife relocated to Inman, South Carolina, where they made many new friends while remaining closely connected to their New Jersey roots.

Kevin is survived by his beloved wife, Michelle Sloan; his mother, Lorraine "Chickie" Sloan of Whiting, New Jersey; brothers, Dave Littleford and his wife, Maryann, Jimmy Littleford, and Butch Sloan and his wife, Christine; sister-in-law, Olivia Coppola and her husband, Joe; brother-in-law, Shawn Farrington and his wife, Julie; along with many cherished nieces, nephews, great-nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Eggers Funeral Home of Boiling Springs on Tuesday, July 21, 2026. Funeral Services will follow in the Chapel of Eggers Funeral Home at 12:00 PM with Reverend Doctor David Lancaster officiating.

Kevin's final resting place will be in Whiting, New Jersey and services there will take place at a later date. Those services will be updated on our website when finalized by Campbell and Anderson Funeral Home of New Jersey.

Kevin's kindness, dedication, and unwavering willingness to serve others will be remembered by all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of his family and friends.
