Kay W Thomas

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nancy Kay Wilson Thomas on January 25, 2025, at the age of 73. Kay was born on August 18th, 1951 to the parents Jefferson Leroy Wilson and Virginia O'Shields Wilson.

Born in Spartanburg, SC, Kay graduated from Chapman High School and Furman University. She had a long and varied career, working for Lockwood Green, Daniel Corporation (now Flour), United Way of the Piedmont, and later assisting her son Shawn with his real estate business.

Kay had a deep love for her family and friends and cherished spending time with them. She was a devout Christian who found solace in reading the Bible and sharing her faith. She also took great pride in maintaining a tidy home.

Kay accepted her Heavenly Father's call at the age of 9 and was a member of the GA's. She diligently studied the Bible and was recognized as Queen during a coronation service at her church at the age of 13.

Kay is survived by her son, Shawn Thomas, and her grandson, Liam Thomas; her sister, Ann Brock (Dan) ; as well as her brothers, Lance Wilson (Linda) and Larry Wilson. She also leaves behind her nieces, Rhonda Huskey and Sheri Mathis; her nephews, John Brock and Marc Wilson; and her great-nephews, Dylan Huskey, Logan Huskey, Justin Mathis, and Cody Mathis.

The services will be held at New Prospect Baptist Church on Wednesday, January 29th, at 1:00 pm. for receiving of friends and funeral service at 2:00 p.m.
