Judy Toney Godfrey

Judy Toney Godfrey, age 72 of Forest City, NC, went to be with her Lord and Savior and her son Jason on Friday, January 2, 2026 at Spartanburg Medical Center. Judy was born July 20, 1953 to the late Gilbert and Alma Toney of the Six Points Community. Her son Jason passed away on February 28, 2024 at the age of 48. She was heartbroken but knew that he was always with her. Judy was an Administrative Assistant Specialist II for the State of North Carolina Information Technology Center.

Judy is survived by her husband of over fifty years, Roger Godfrey, her son Ryan Godfrey (Shauna), her daughter in Law Dana, her beloved grandchildren; Daniel Godfrey (Ragen), Hayden Godfrey and Emma Godfrey, sister Sandy Waters, brother Rodney Toney (Becky), nephew Derek Toney (Kasey) and family, nieces Alyson Toney Brooks (Dylan) and family and Laura Hunt Chen (David) and son, best friend Patsy White along with many cousins who were very special to her.

The family will receive friends from 12:00pm to 2:00pm on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at Race Path Baptist Church in Ellenboro, NC. The funeral service will follow at 2:00pm at Race Path Baptist Church with Reverend Randall Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to Race Path Baptist Church at 1171 Race Path Church Rd. Ellenboro, NC 28040. Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside, NC is serving the family.
