Joyce Barnes Norman

Joyce Barnes Norman, age 91 of Cliffside, NC, passed away peacefully at the home of her son, surrounded by her loved ones, on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. She was born in a farmhouse in the Camps Creek Church community of Mooresboro, NC, to the late Ben and Lily Foster Barnes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack Dempsey Norman, and twelve siblings.

She is survived by her son, Jack Edward "Eddie" Norman, and his wife, Tonya Norman, of Lillington, NC; several nieces and nephews, including one very special niece, Betty Norville of Cliffside, NC; grandchildren Chelsea Webber and husband Bo, Blake Norman, Lauren Banker and husband Chase, and Carson Gannon; and great-grandchildren Abby Webber, Sadie Bennett, Gage Webber, Holt Banker, and Blaire Banker.

Joyce was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; known lovingly as "Gran" to all. She was kind yet fierce, always putting the needs of others before her own. If you ever had the pleasure of visiting her home, you never left empty-handed; you left with a full belly and a grocery bag of something.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Cliffside Cemetery with Reverend Tim Elmore officiating. Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside, NC is serving the family
