Joshua Lee Watters

Joshua Lee Watters passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023. He was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Jeanne Huckaba and his adopted father, Manuel E Watters. He leaves behind his friend and wife, Jessica Watters; one son, Bodhi Watters; two daughters, Stormy Watters and Emerlyn Watters; one brother, Micah Watters (Martina); one sister, Sarai Watters with several nieces and nephews that adored him; and one grandson, Jayden Lee Scavola due in Feb 2024.

Joshua was born in San Diego, CA on October 16, 1976. He was raised in Manchester, GA. Joshua loved sports, especially football. He played throughout high school. After high school he enlisted in the Marine Corps where he served for two terms. He served in Kosovo and Bosnia. He shared many stories with us about his mission. One story that stands out was him saving a small child from a burning car.

Joshua was a loyal and dedicated employee. No matter what career path he traveled-he wanted to succeed.

Joshua also had a giving heart. He would take food to the homeless. He would stop along the road to help people that were in need.

He enjoyed building things from wood. He built his son a bed on stilts and underneath he made a sensory area where they all could play together. Joshua adored his children. He would encourage his children to write and draw.

Joshua also loved to cook and could make the simplest ingredients into savory dishes.  His famous recipe was his fried cabbage. It was outstanding. Joshua was in the process of starting his own food truck.

He loved and was loved by his family. Joshua will be missed by many.

A Celebration of Life Memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, January 6, 2024 in the Chapel of Eggers Funeral Home of Chesnee.
