Joseph William "Bill" Wrather

Mr. Joseph William "Bill" Wrather, age 95, of Boiling Springs, South Carolina, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 20, 2024.

Mr. Wrather was born in Murfreesboro, Tennessee on September 26, 1929, a son of  the late Blanche Lowe Wrather and Walter Wrather. He earned his Master's degree from the University of Tennessee and retired as a Plant Supervisor at Pet Dairy. He was also a United States Army Veteran. Mr. Wrather was a member of Boiling Springs First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, led the Genesis Sunday School class, and sang in the choir.

Left to cherish his memory are two sons, Robert "Bob" Wrather (Kim) and James "Jim" Wrather (Sue); five granddaughters, Meg Van Epps, Amy Wrather, Candice Head, Brooke Rennison, and Courtney Stepp; four great grandchildren; sisters, Cora Ella Price, Dot Craighead, and Naomi Todd; and brothers Sam Wrather (Linda), Warren Wrather (Carol), David Wrather (Linda), and Bruce Wrather (Gail). In addition to his wife, Mrs. Frances Seay Wrather, Mr. Wrather was predeceased by his sister Nancy Duke, and three brothers, Ralph Wrather, Fred Wrather, and Larry Wrather.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Boiling Springs First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Hank Williams and Rev. Chuck Thornton officiating.

The family will receive friends Thursday at the church prior to the service from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM.

Pallbearers are Allen Newman, Jimmy Parris, Jason Bagwell, Keith Plummer, Keith Collins, and Manuel Dewberry. The members of the Genesis Sunday School Class are asked to serve as the honorary escort and sit in a group.  Mr. Wrather's caregivers are also asked to sit together in a group.

Interment will follow at Good Shepherd Memorial Park in Boiling Springs, South Carolina.
