John Jennings Edwards, Jr.

John Jennings Edwards, Jr. passed away peacefully on Monday, December 23, 2024. He was born in Columbia South Carolina to the late John Jennings Edwards, Sr. and Lula Sharpe Edwards.

John graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1980 with a BA in journalism.

John played with several rock & roll bands throughout his life. He enjoyed fishing, going to the beach, playing bass guitar and watching Gamecock football.

John had worked at WSPA, WRET (SEC TV), Mission Medical Associates and Mission Health Systems in Asheville, North Carolina. He was an Epic Credentialed Trainer and had worked with several hospital systems over the years.

John is survived by his wife of 19 years, Donna Edens Edwards; furbaby "Reese"; son, Aaron T. Edwards; daughter, Rachel Edwards DeAlba (Eric); stepsons, James Richardson (Robyn), Eden Richardson (Sherree); sister, Pam Tidwell (Tommy); niece, Melissa Powell (Brian); and great niece, Mae.

Visitation will be, Saturday, January 18, 2024, from 1:00-3:00 at Eggers Funeral Home, Boiling Springs, South Carolina. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
