John Ralph Bradey

John "Ralph" Bradey, 87, passed away, Sunday, March 1, 2026, in his hometown of Spartanburg, South Carolina. He was the husband to the late Barbara J. Bradey for forty-three years and husband to now wife, Teresa Bradey, for three years. Ralph was born on July 22, 1938, also in Spartanburg. He was a son of the late, Homer D. and Grace B. Bradey.

Ralph dedicated his life to serving his country, community, and family with unwavering commitment and love.

He honorably served as a PFC in the US Army, a period during which he exemplified the values of duty and resilience. After his military service, he turned his skills into entrepreneurship, founding and managing Bradey Services Construction for forty plus years serving the Spartanburg and surrounding areas.

Ralph was a devout member of Fingerville First Baptist Church for over forty years, where he also served as trustee for the church. His faith was a cornerstone of his life. He lived his beliefs through service, impacting many within and beyond his community.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Teresa Gosnell Bradey; his daughter, Cindy Poteat (Steve); sons, Paul Bradey (Sherry), and Eddie Pruitt (Tammy); and sister, Margaret Collins (Pete). He was a pillar of strength and love for his extensive family, including his sisters-in-laws, Mary and Tressie Bradey; grandchildren, Stacey Davis (Wally), P.J. Bradey, Robert Presnell (Kim), Jonathan Bradey (Elizabeth), Daniel Bradey, Matt Bradey, Nicole Walters (Andrew), Josh Turner (Heather), Justin Turner (Kaylee), Kelly Gonzalez (Lito), Zach Pruitt (Meghan), Luke Pruitt (Cassidy), and Braedon Poteat (Emily); thirty-one great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Barbara J. Bradey; his son, Larry Bradey and his wife, Geraldine, his brothers Dupree and Delano Bradey, and his sisters, Alice Mae Reynolds and husband Bobby and Mary Kate Owens and husband Gary.

Ralph's legacy will be cherished and remembered by all who knew him as a man who loved the Lord, his family, and his country with passion and dedication. His life exemplifies the virtues of service, faith, and family unity.

To know him was to love him, he was a very good husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, on Friday, March 6, 2026, in the Chapel of Eggers Funeral Home of Boiling Springs with Rev. Andy Case and Rev. David Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00PM until 2:00PM. Interment will follow the funeral service at Good Shepherd Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Dwayne Reynolds, Mike Bradey, Bruce Collins, P.J. Bradey, Jonathan Bradey, and Luke Pruitt.
