Joe W. "Bill" Mccraw, Jr.

Joe W. "Bill" McCraw, Jr., 71, of Chesnee, South Carolina passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2023. He was born in Spartanburg on December 3, 1951 to the late Joe William McCraw, Sr. and Edith Palmer McCraw.

Bill graduated Boiling Springs High School in 1970, and USC Columbia in 1975. He was a member of Peach Valley Baptist Church. He enjoyed NASCAR Racing, Gamecock football and baseball, and loved to hunt rabbit, dove, and deer. He was a member of Sportsman Deer Hunting Club that hunted deer in Allendale, SC for 30 years and made many great friends, several of whom have gone on to be with the Lord. Bill was an electrician and the owner of McCraw Electric for 21 years. He was also a long haul truck driver, worked at Martex Fibers, Tidewater Transit, and Maxima Freight for 8 years. He was a member and past chairman of LCF Water District for 20 years.

Bill is survived by his son, Benjamin W. McCraw (Melia); and grandchildren, Charlie and Margaret.

In addition to his wife Sylvia, and parents, he was predeceased by a step-daughter, Diana Michelle Wyatt. Bill was additionally survived by step-grandchildren, Preston, Clayton, and Angela.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 2:00PM at Springhill Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Ron Gaddy officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
