Joan Jolley Ledford

Joan Jolley Ledford, age 90, went home to be with her Lord on August 2, 2024. She was surrounded by her family as she peacefully passed into the arms of God. Her wish to remain independent was granted, as she was able to do so until her last day.

Joan was the daughter of the late Zelie and Lois Jolley of Mooresboro.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Talmadge, brother, Carl Jolley, Sisters-in-law, Maxine Jolley and Joyce Jolley.

She is survived by two sons, Dr. Terry Ledford (Sheila) of Bostic and Tim Ledford (Cheryl) of Spartanburg, SC. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Chuck Ledford, Christy Marshall (Eric), Suzanne Ledford, Heather Molnar (Steven) and Brad Ledford (Elizabeth). Nine great grandchildren, Alex Harris (Chase), Payton Marshall, Parker Marshall, Madi Ledford, Jackson Marshall, Tanner Marshall, Paisley Ledford, Piper Ledford and Jodee Molnar. Two great, great grandchildren, Hunter Harris and Wrenlee Harris. One brother, Dr. Paul Jolley. One brother-in-law, Craig Ledford (Donette) and several nieces and nephews.

Everyone who knew Joan enjoyed her sweet, kind and caring personality. She was a very giving person, but never wanted to be any trouble to anyone. Her close walk with God was demonstrated by the way she treated everyone she met.

Joan was a loving caretaker for her husband, Talmadge, who suffered with Multiple Sclerosis for many years. They operated two successful businesses Metal Arts, Inc and The Frame Shop. After her retirement, she was invited to join Holland Furniture as a part-time sales associate. That position allowed her to continue interactions with people, do something she loved and helped her stay young and active.

The funeral service will be held at Race Path Baptist Church in Ellenboro, NC, August 6th , 2024 at 2:00 pm with Reverend Randall Cooper officiating. Receiving of friends will be from 12:45pm to 1:45pm in the church social hall. The body will lie in state in the sanctuary of the church during the visitation hour. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park in Boiling Springs, NC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Race Pathfinders.

Her family and friends were truly blessed to have known her for so many years and look forward to seeing her again! We're grateful for the time we were given.
