Jerry Allen Johnson

Mr. Jerry Allen "Fat Cat"  Johnson, age 69, of Spartanburg, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Mr. Johnson was born May 7, 1954, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, a son of George Franklin and Loretta O'Sullivan Johnson.  He was a professional drummer, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was an avid Clemson fan. He was known for his great sense of humor. Mr. Johnson was a member of Silica Springs Baptist Church. Allen was a member of the Masonic Lodge #415 Poplar Springs.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his mother, Loretta O'Sullivan Johnson; wife, Lynn Johnson; sons, Marshall Johnson (Alisha), Mark Johnson (Ally); daughter, April Isler (Wayne); bonus children, Diane Fuller (Michael), Mark Parris (Donna), and Harley Brackins (Nikki); brother, Marty Johnson (Cindi); grandchildren, Kayla Layton (Brandon), Brandon Johnson (Ashley), Stephanie Amerson (Justin), Cody Isler, Andrew Johnson, Logan Johnson (Tyler), Ashley Fuller (Kendall), Devin Fuller (Brooke), Emily McDowell (Curtis), and Will Parris; and great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Braylyn, Konnor, Riley, Carson, Harrison, Adalynn, Walker, Waylon, Theodore, Callaway, and due in August, Laiken.

In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his wife of 40 years, Arlene Lynette Johnson, and his brother, Arlen Johnson.

The family will receive friends from 3:00pm to 4:00pm on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Eggers Funeral Home of Boiling Springs.  Funeral services with Masonic rites will follow at 4:00pm in the Chapel of Eggers Funeral Home with the Pastor Billy Elder and the Reverend Kenneth Cash officiating.
