Jerry A. Cantrell

Jerry A. Cantrell, 88, of Inman, South Carolina, passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025. Born on April 5, 1937, in Rutherfordton, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Arthur Burton Cantrell and Louise Owens Cantrell. After losing his birth mother at a young age, his father later remarried, and Jerry was lovingly raised by Edna McSwain Cantrell.

Jerry owned and operated Cantrell's Amoco for 35 years, where he became a familiar face and a true staple of the community. His dedication to the station and his customers was unmatched, and his work ethic spoke volumes about the kind of man he was.

A homebody at heart, Jerry was a simple yet strong man, humble, hardworking, and steadfast. He took pride in the life he built and the people he served with quiet devotion. Jerry was a man of faith and attended Bible Baptist Church in Landrum, South Carolina. Jerry will be remembered for his gentle spirit, commitment to his work, and the lasting impression he left on those who knew him.

He is survived by his son, Chad Cantrell; daughter, Tammy Rogers (Dan); sisters, Cindy Fowler, and Carolyn Massey; four grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Anthony B. Cantrell; sisters, Ann Cox and Janice Kimbrell.

A funeral service to celebrate Jerry's life will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, in the Chapel of Eggers Funeral Home of Boiling Springs with Rev. Tommy Turner officiating.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, one hour prior to the service.

Interment will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery.
