Janice Inez Murray

Janice Inez Murray, 79, of Spartanburg, South Carolina went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 25, 2023. She was born January 3, 1944 in Spartanburg to the late William Ridings and Elsie "Inez" Ridings.

Mrs. Murray was of the Baptist faith and had been a member of Carolina Baptist Church for over 50 years. She loved spending time with her family, and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was very generous and enjoyed taking care of others, particularly cooking for family and friends. Janice was well known for blessing others with her coveted wet chocolate cake.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Debbie Wilson (Larry) of Anderson; son, Dale Murray (Barbara), of Clanton, Alabama; grandchildren, Keith Wilson, Abby Bell, Charis Closson (Ryan), Alicia Kelley (Ryan), and Candace Jerkins (Jason); great grandchildren, Rin Parker, Fisher, Elsie, and Oakes Bell, Bayler, Drake, and Ellis Kelley, Matheson and Nolan Closson, and soon to be born, Knox Closson.

In addition to her husband, June William Murray, and parents, William and Inez, she was predeceased by a son, Robert William Murray; sister, Frances Ruth Sprouse; brothers, Felston Ridings and Jimmy Ridings; and great grandson, Jensen Bell.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 29, 2023 from 4:00PM until 6:00PM at Eggers Funeral Home of Chesnee. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 30, 2023 at 12:00PM at Carolina Baptist Church, with Pastor Mark Williamson, Pastor Frankie Taylor, and Pastor Larry Wilson, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow at Springhill Memorial Gardens.
