Janice Elder Moffitt

Janice Elder Moffitt, 75, of Chesnee, South Carolina went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 6, 2024. She was born in Spartanburg on September 30, 1948 to the late Lucinda Fowler Elder and Joseph Cleveland Elder.

Jan attended Eden Wesleyan Church and played piano for the Praise Team. She loved singing and playing piano with her late husband, Frank, in the Master's Singers gospel group. Jan enjoyed camping, and loved her family.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Kayren Swofford (Matthew); brother, Joe Elder (Nancy); sisters-in-law, Linda and Gail Moffitt; granddaughters, Ashley Searcy (Travis) and Presley Jones (Chris); grandsons, Tristin Swofford (Grace) and Landon Swofford (Ali); great grandchildren, Jackson Searcy, Kimberlyn Jones, Trace Swofford, Kolsen Jones, and Lainey Swofford; as well as nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a grandson, Matthew Todd Swofford, Jr.

The family will receive friends Monday, July 8, 2024 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Eggers Funeral Home of Chesnee.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at Eden Wesleyan Church with the Rev. Richard Hall officiating. Private family burial will follow at Springhill Memorial Gardens.

The family is at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Kayren and Matthew Swofford.
