Hope Marlene Shields

Hope Marlene Shields, age 86, of Spartanburg, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, June 2, 2026.

Born January 15, 1940, in Lynn, Massachusetts, she was a daughter of the late Harry Walton and Pearl Robbins Walton.

Hope loved line dancing, collecting angels, and spending time watching her favorite television programs, including the reruns of Wheel of Fortune and Perry Mason.

Hope is survived by her daughters, Joyce Grigsby, Vicki Dendy, and Paula Larish; her son, Paul Tuttle; grandchildren, Margie Nash, Tommie Jean Kimbrell, Donald Sedlak, Jean Sedlak, Karin Brier, Holly Arndt, Elizabeth Bolwerk, Austin Paul Tuttle, Dalton Akins, and Noah Akins; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Hope was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Monday, June 8, 2026, at Eggers Funeral Home of Boiling Springs. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM in the Eggers Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Good Shepherd Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Kalub Head, John Lee, Noah Akins, Dalton Aikin, Aiken Risner, Austin Tuttle, and John Gentry.
