Hathleen Holcombe Parris

Mrs. Hathleen Holcombe Parris, 98, of Mooresboro, NC went to her Heavenly home on March 12, 2023 surrounded by loved ones. Mrs. Parris was born June 20, 1924, and was a daughter of the late Claude and Lula Alexander Holcombe.

Hathleen was a 1942 graduate of Chesnee High School, and the last remaining survivor of her class. She had a strong work ethic and continued to work until retiring at the age of 93 from Chase Corner Ministries.  She was a long time member of Hicks Grove Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter-in-law, Lunnette Parris of Forest City, NC;  sister, Wynona Starnes of Mooresboro, NC; grandsons, Robin Parris (Dawn) and Jon Parris (Crystal) of Mooresboro; 7 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; as well as 2 special nieces who loved her dearly, Ann Gibson and Kay Walters.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Winfred Parris; beloved sons, Hugh Parris and Ronny Parris; a brother, James Holcombe; and a grandson, Dale Parris.

A graveside service will be held at the Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Jamie McDaniel officiating.
