Gwen Pye

Mrs. Gwen Mobley Pye, 87, passed away Monday, September 28, 2026, at Lake Emory Post Acute Care in Inman.

Gwen was born in Abbeville, SC, on November 8, 1938, a daughter of the late Charlie and Ruby Scott Mobley. She was well known for her quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. Gwen was a true jokester who loved cutting up and making those around her laugh. She retired from Flowers Bakery after many years of devoted service. Even in her later years, Gwen remained remarkably independent and strong-willed.

Above all else, Gwen cherished her family, whom she loved more than anything. She found great joy in the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and leaves behind many cherished memories that will live on in their hearts.

Gwen is survived by her daughter, Lynn Bishop and her husband, Bobby, of Chesnee; her grandson, Pete Bishop and his wife, Tabatha of Spartanburg; her great-grandchildren, Ella Bishop and Coleman Bishop, and Kastahn Brock, all of Spartanburg; her brother, Pete Mobley and his wife, Judy, of Minot, ND; and her sisters, Mary Alice Cox and her husband, Ronnie, of Calhoun Falls, and Marolyn Whited and her husband, Harold, of Greenwood.

In addition to her loving parents, Gwen was preceded in death by her siblings, Skeet Mobley, Linda Partain, Carolyn Cheshire, and Debbie Haynes.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at Eggers Funeral Home of Boiling Springs.
