G.W. Mccourry

G.W. McCourry, husband of Earlene McCourry of Inman, South Carolina, age 91, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025.

G.W. was born on March 15, 1934, in Burnsville, North Carolina, a son of the late Belle and Jeter Williams McCourry. He worked as a truck driver for over forty years and received a One Million Mile award for safe driving. G.W. was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of Gateway Baptist Church and was a devoted believer who loved the Lord. He was a hard worker, and he would do anything for his family, whom he loved dearly. He was blessed with more years than any relative in generations, a cherished gift.

Mr. McCourry is survived by his children, Ronda Robbins (the late Rev. Michael Robbins), Randal McCourry (Alicia), and Gayla McCourry; grandchildren, Michelle Jordan (Mark) and Mark Robbins; great-grandchildren, Isaac Robbins, Michael Robbins, Lauren Jordan Teaster (Terry), Colten Jordan, and Madison Jordan; and a great-great granddaughter, Annie Lane Teaster.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Betty Jean Garland McCourry; a son, Gary McCourry; and a son-in-law, Rev. Michael Robbins.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Gateway Baptist Church, 1600 Old Furnace Road, Boiling Springs, SC 29316, with Rev. Tim Ramsey officiating.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the church.

Pallbearers will be Colten Jordan, Mark Robbins, Isaac Robbins, Michael Robbins, Buddy Greene, and Bryan Gwynn.

Interment will follow the service at Good Shepherd Memorial Park in Boiling Springs, South Carolina.
