Guy Steven Harris, Sr.

Guy Steven Harris, Sr., passed away on June 3, 2026, at McCall Hospice House. He was born on October 10, 1957, in Rutherfordton, North Carolina, he was the son of Guy Harris and Imajean McDaniel Harris.

Guy graduated from Chase High School in 1975, where he made his mark both in the classroom and on the athletic field. During his school years, he played football and was a member of the wrestling team.

Guy retired from Duke Energy with 40 years of service

Family was central to Guy's life. He is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Paula, son, Guy Steven Harris, Jr., and daughter-in-love, Mary, as well as his beloved granddaughter, Magnolia Harris, and grandson, Silas Harris. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Debbie Waters, and her husband, Bud, along with one niece and 2 nephews, 2 great- nieces and 4 great-nephews who will cherish his memory. In addition, he leaves behind a host of friends who were like family to him and who will deeply miss his presence. The love he shared with his family was evident in the way he spoke of them, supported them, and remained connected to them through the years.

Guy was preceded in death by his parents and by two unborn children, whose memory remained part of his family's story.
