Grace Lawter Jolley

Grace Lawter Jolley, 94, of Chesnee, SC went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 1, 2023. She was born in Spartanburg on January 3, 1929 to the late Robert Jason and Mary Sue Fulbright Dotson.

Mrs. Jolley was a member of Cooley Springs Baptist Church. She was a member of the choir for 78 years and had a beautiful alto voice. Grace was also in the Ever Ready Sunday School Class for many years. Above all she loved God, her children, and grandchildren. She previously worked at Forest Lawn Mortuary.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Gail Revisky of Conway, and Debra Lawter McDowell (Johnny) of Myrtle Beach; sons, Larry James Lawter (Rita Watts-Lawter) of Chesnee, and Danny William Lawter of Chesnee; grandchildren, Holly Skinner (Kevin), Chad McDowell (Jaziya), Kyle Lawter, Jamie Marie Gaffney (Donnie), Josh Revisky (Allison), and Jessica Bryan (Corey); great-grandchildren, Allora Schmidt (JP), Savannah Skinner, Triston Skinner, Aven McDowell, Emerie McDowell, Isla McDowell, Brynlen Gaffney, Luke Gaffney, Maddie Johnson, Mollie Johnson, and Claire Bryan.

In addition to her parents, Robert and Mary, she was predeceased by her husband, James William Lawter; sisters, Bonnie Fowler, Margaret Worthy, Betty Prater, Rachel Dotson, and Nellie Lynch; brothers, James Dotson and Buddy Dotson; son-in-law, Rev. Wayne Revisky; and her second husband, BP Jolley.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at Eggers Funeral Home of Chesnee, with the Rev. Dave DeLand officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until 2:00PM prior to the service. Entombment will be on Monday, June 5, 2023 at 11:00AM at Springhill Memorial Gardens in the Mausoleum.
