Gladys Mintz Smith

Mrs. Gladys Mintz Smith, age 88, wife of John G. Smith passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at her home.

Mrs. Smith was born August 28, 1935, in Spartanburg, SC a daughter of the late Roy and Lettie Hall Mintz. She was a member of Hope Baptist Church.  Mrs. Smith was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She enjoyed cheering on the Atlanta Braves, traveling, completing word searches, and picking blackberries.

Surviving in addition to her husband of 69 years are daughter, Jackie Williams and husband, Jamie of Union; son, Daniel Smith and wife, Crystal of Union, and son Michael Smith of Lockhart; grandchildren, Brad Smith, Keith Williams, Josh Williams, Courtney Furr, Hannah Smith, Suzanne Painter, and Jessica Williams; twenty great grandchildren; special nephew, O'Neal Mintz, and special great niece, Jada Arnold. She was predeceased by two sisters and six brothers; grandson, Allen Smith; and daughter-in-law, Shirley Smith. Mrs. Smith was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, September 15, 2023, at Eggers Funeral Home of Boiling Springs conducted by Rev. Gerald Eaves.  Interment will follow at Good Shepherd Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Brad Smith, Josh Williams, Clyde Painter, Dylan Williams, Nicolas Smith, Tim Mintz, Olin D. Mintz, and Josh Furr.  O'Neal Mintz will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Friday prior to the funeral service.
