Frank H. Goforth Sr.

Frank Hill Goforth, Sr., of Chesnee, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2026

Born December 18, 1933, in Pacolet, South Carolina, he was a son of the late William Wyatt Goforth and Ollie Mae Gossett Goforth. Mr. Goforth was a member of First Baptist Church of Boiling Springs and proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Mr. Goforth retired from Chapman Concrete where he worked as a bulldozer driver. Also, a lifelong dairy farmer, he was a hardworking man who loved the land. Some of his greatest joy came from working the farm alongside his family, where long days, hard work, and time spent together created memories and a legacy that will live on for generations. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his children, Elizabeth "Beth" Jones and her husband, Jimmy, Frank Hill "Buddy" Goforth, Jr., Mae G. Shields and her husband, Tim, Teresa "Tweetie" Brown and her husband, Eddie, and Emily G. Lipari and her husband, Nathan; his grandchildren, Brooke Jones, Brante Jones Solomon and her husband, John, Brayson Jones, Ashley Coward and her husband, Michael, Aaron Shields, Heath McCraw and his wife, Kerry, Staff Sergeant Matthew A. Sanders, USAF, and Mattie Sanders; and his great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Goforth was preceded in death by his son, Allen Wyatt Goforth; his brothers, Carlisle Goforth, Alec Goforth, Donald Goforth, Harry Goforth, and Bud Goforth; and his sisters, Mary Martin, Emily Goforth, Mildred Goforth, and Betty Blackwell.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Eggers Funeral Home of Chesnee. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel, conducted by grandson-in-law, Rev. Michael Coward.  Burial will follow at Goucher Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors rendered at the graveside.

Serving as pallbearers will be Lynn Blackwell, Corbin Bradley, Jon Michael Coward, Brayson Jones, Cameron Goforth, Dean Goforth, Dylan McCombs, Heath McCraw, Aaron Shields, and Jason Webb.
