Frances Camp Compton

Mrs. Frances Camp Compton, age 88, wife of the late C.J. Compton, passed away at her home Wednesday, April 5, 2023. Mrs. Compton was born February 17, 1935, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, a daughter of the late Leroy Camp and Louise Bishop Camp. She was the co-owner and co-founder of C.J. Compton Plumbing and Heating, Inc. Mrs. Compton was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church (View Church).

Mrs. Compton is survived by her sons, Michael Compton (Libby) and Mark Compton (Tammy), both of Chesnee and her daughter, Cynthia Welchel (Dale), of Inman. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Kelly Compton McLean (Jason), Kevin Compton (Barri), Derrick Compton (Sarah), Dustin Compton (Shana), Nicholas Wood (Keri), Thomas Compton (Kaleigh), Michele Welchel Cole (Chandler), and Matthew Welchel (Lauren); and great-grandchildren, Jacob Compton, Luke Compton, Levi and Locklyn McLean, Pearl,  Anna and Finley Compton, Adalee and Alivia Compton, Jase and Colton Compton, Dallas Wood, Chansen, Cathen and Caige Cole; and Madden, Leyland and Maven Welchel.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sisters, Mildred Coffee and Catherine Gossett; brother, Dupree Camp; grandson, Joshua Compton; and great-granddaughter, MarleeJo Frances Cole.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00PM, Friday, April 7, 2023 at Eggers Funeral Home Chapel of Boiling Springs conducted by the Rev. Tyler Kirby. Interment will follow at Green Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Compton's grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Her caregivers are asked to sit in a group

The family will receive friends at Eggers Funeral Home from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Friday prior to the service.
