Flora Jean Douglas

Mrs. Flora Jean Douglas, 88, loving wife of the late Wallace Shedd Douglas, Sr., passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at White Oak at North Grove in Spartanburg.

Jean was born in Lula, Georgia, on August 24, 1938, to the late Boone and Ruby Dixon White. She was a “people person” who had many friends and was always willing to make more. Throughout her life, and especially during her senior years, Jean remained vibrant and full of life. She enjoyed many things, including dancing, especially line dancing and square dancing.

But above all else, Jean cherished her family. They were her most prized possession, and she loved each of them dearly. She was especially fond of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her tremendous joy.

Jean was a longtime member of First Baptist North Spartanburg, where she attended faithfully until her health no longer allowed her to do so.

Jean is survived by her two sons, Shedd Douglas, Jr. and his wife, Cathy, of Spartanburg, and Todd Douglas and his wife, Kathy, of Inman; her two grandsons, Luke Douglas and his wife, Hailey, of Spartanburg, and Griffin Douglas and his wife, Macy, of Roebuck; her two granddaughters, Amy Douglas of Inman, and Anna Rakes and her husband, Dillon, of Boiling Springs; six great-grandchildren, Maci, Claire, Walker, Waylon, Irina, and Hudson; and a sister, Wally Anderson of Winnsboro, South Carolina.

In addition to her loving husband and parents, Jean was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Tanner, and a brother, James White.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Eggers Funeral Home of Boiling Springs. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM in the Chapel of Eggers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Good Shepherd Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Luke Douglas, Griffin Douglas, Dustin Dale Horton, Jr., Dillon Rakes, Jerry Hollis, and Ken Anderson.  

The family is at their respective homes.
