Emily Bishop Lawter

Emily Bishop Lawter, 22, of Boiling Springs, South Carolina passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023. She was born in Spartanburg on May 29, 2001, to Curtis Eugene "Gene" Bishop and April Seagle Bishop.

Emily was a 2019 graduate of Broome High School.  She also graduated from USC Upstate with a BSN degree and loved her job as a Critical Care/ICU Nurse with Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. She was a beautiful soul that loved life, her family, being married, and her "furbaby" Frank. She enjoyed the beach, shopping, and spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband, Blaine Lawter, and parents, she is survived by a sister, Elizabeth Grace Bishop; mother-in-law, Shelly Lowe; father-in-law, Mickey Lawter (Dawn); sisters-in-law, Kaia Grace Lawter, Trista Gonzales, and Kailey Ryan; brothers-in-law, Chase Lawter and Josh Lowe; grandparents, John and Brenda Seagle, and Faye Jonas; uncle, Jeff Bishop; cousins, Lauren, Levi, and Lucy Bishop; and many beloved friends that were like family.

Emily was predeceased by a grandmother, Teresa Gail Bishop; and grandfather, Lloyd "LoyLoy" Jonas.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Fairview Baptist Church with the Rev. Ty Childers officiating.  The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00PM until 2:00PM, prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Bishop, Paul Lee, Chase Lawter, Josh Lowe, Seth Hewitt, and Shawn Murphy. The Nurses Honor Guard will perform the Florence Nightingale tribute at the close of her service.
