Edith M. Brown

Edith Mae Brown, 82, widow of David L. Brown of Boiling Springs, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025. Born on January 23, 1943, in Marshall, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Forrest A. Cox and Angie E. Bradley.

Edith lived a life rooted in faith, family, and service to others. A woman of deep and abiding faith, Edith loved the Lord with all her heart. She was a long-time member of Northbrook Baptist Church, where she found great joy singing in the choir and sharing her love for scripture as a Sunday school teacher for both children and adults. Her life was a testimony to her unwavering belief in God's grace and goodness.

She dedicated over 30 years of hard work to Inman Mills, where she began her career as a spinner and retired as a cloth inspector. Her strong work ethic, humility, and kindness were evident in everything she did. Edith was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was her greatest treasure.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David L. Brown; son, Christopher D. Brown; brothers, Nile Wayne "Darrell" Cox and Kenneth Cox.

She is survived by her son, Michael A. Brown; daughter-in-law, Nancy Brown; grandchildren, Lane Brown (Kacey), Miles Brown, and Laura Wood (Avery); great granddaughter, Amelia M. Wood; and brother-in-law, Joe Brown (Linda).

A funeral service to celebrate Edith's life will be held at 1:00PM on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Eggers Funeral Home of Boiling Springs with Rev. Benny Green officiating.

The family will receive friends from 12:00PM until 1:00PM on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Eggers Funeral Home of Boiling Springs.

Committal will follow in Good Shepherd Memorial Park.
