Eddy Lee Whitlock

Eddy Lee Whitlock, age 78, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, devotion, and cherished memories.

Eddy was born on June 23, 1947, to the late C.B. Whitlock and Inez Arrowood Whitlock Bagwell. Eddy shared 47 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Renee Whitlock. Together, they built a life centered on family and enduring love. He was a proud father to his sons, Jay Whitlock and Jody Whitlock, and a devoted grandfather to Logan and Donavon Dowd, who brought him immense joy.

Eddy is also survived by his sisters, Joy (Ron) Morris and Brenda McGarity; his brothers-in-law, Randy Quinn and Micky Quinn; his mother-in-law, Gail Quinn; his stepbrothers and stepsister, Bobby, Barry, and Ruthie; as well as many extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Mike Dowd; his late wife, Debbie Gossett Whitlock; and his father-in-law, James Quinn.

Eddy was a proud graduate of Dorman High School, Class of 1965. He went on to serve his country honorably as a U.S. Army veteran, including service in Korea.

Eddy was a dedicated and hardworking man who spent many years as a truck driver before retiring. He was known for his strong work ethic and unwavering commitment to providing for his family. A man of Baptist faith, Eddy lived his life grounded in love, humility, and faith.

Eddy was a founding member of the HD Club and enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He loved fishing trips with his sons and spending time playing cards with family and friends. These moments, filled with laughter and companionship, will be remembered by all who knew him.

Above all, Eddy will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather whose life was defined by his dedication to those he loved.
