Eddie Hugh Caldwell

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Eddie Hugh Caldwell, 81 of Boiling Springs, SC on Monday, October 13, 2025, after a long- term illness surrounded by family in the comfort of his home.

Eddie was a beloved son of the late William Hugh and Ruth McCraw Caldwell born on January 21, 1944, in Spartanburg, SC. He was a graduate of Spartanburg High School and graduated from Spartanburg Community College.

He was a devoted husband to his sweetheart of 51 years, Carrol Elaine Caldwell. Her unwavering compassion, love, and support was truly one of his biggest blessings. He was a loving father to his daughters Tracy Caldwell, Lisa Williams (Jeff Williams) and Ronda Thompson (Paul Thompson). His grandchildren Harper Williams, Shelby McDowell (Seth), and Sydney Porter (Andrew) referred to him as "Gampy" and were the light of his life. Eddie also had three great- grandchildren: Callie and Brantley McDowell and Emma Porter. He is survived by two siblings, sister Linda Caldwell Stone (Tad) and brother Randy Caldwell (Sandy).

Eddie loved a good laugh, always kept jokes coming, and said if he could make someone laugh it made him very happy. He loved to sing whether he made up the song, sang one we all knew, or simply called to sing Happy Birthday. He was an avid Carolina Gamecocks fan and his most favorite past-time was cheering them on in football and women's basketball. Above all else Eddie put God first and loved his family immensely. He enjoyed telling others what the Lord has done in his life and sharing his testimony. There is no doubt that he is now in the loving arms of Jesus and is completely healed.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of Agape Hospice Care in Spartanburg, SC for the wonderful care and comfort they provided during this time.

Eddie may have left his loved ones here on Earth but he will remain in our hearts forever and as he said many times,  " I love you and Jesus does too."
