Donald Elmer Wilson

Donald Elmer Wilson, age 69, entered into eternity in the presence of his Savior on September 23, 2025. He was born June 24, 1956 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Byrdette Wilson and the late Hazel Harris Wilson. Don loved sharing the Lord with others and lived his life as a testimony of faith, joy, and kindness.

He was the beloved husband of 48 years to Jackie Wilson. Together they built a life rooted in love, faith, and family. He was a devoted father to Wayne (Kelly) Wilson and Jason (Courtney) Wilson, and a proud grandfather to Blaine, JC, Kaylan, Carter, Luke, Olivia, and Allie. Don is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Jimmie (Roger) Lail, Jeri Conner, and Tammy Wilson, along with many other cherished family members across the country.

In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by four brothers; Alvin Wilson, Grady Wilson, Rusty Wilson and Dusty Wilson.

Spending time with his wife and family—especially his grandchildren—was when he was happiest. Don had a special place in his heart for his cat, Penny, who was a faithful companion. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and there wasn't a better man to restore a car than Don. His life reflected the promise of Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV): "Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand."

A visitation with the family will be Friday, September 26, 2025, from 1:00–3:00 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Forest City, NC, with a Celebration of Life service immediately following. The graveside service will be held afterwards at Rutherford Memorial Cemetery in the Chase community.
