Donald Leroy White

Donald Leroy White, 89, of Boiling Springs, SC passed away Saturday, February 25, 2023.

Born in Blacksburg, SC, he was a son of the late Jesse James White and Florence Elizabeth Hampton White. He was a member of Inman United Methodist Church. Donald played baseball for Spartanburg Methodist College and USC as a catcher. He was also a college umpire for the state of Florida. Donald proudly served in the US Army National Guard and achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. He served as Lieutenant Governor for the state of Florida in the Optimist Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Carol Quinn White; a sister, Virginia Hardin; and a brother, Howard White.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Susan Cosby; son, Donald White, II (Shawn); five grandsons, Chad Cosby, Ryan Cosby, Travis Cosby (Keira), Graham White and Christopher White (Katie); and five great granddaughters.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Inman United Methodist Church (27 Bishop St., Inman, SC 29349) with the Rev. Miriam Mick officiating.
