Donald Moore Hogsed

Donald Moore Hogsed, Sr., age 86, loving husband of Ruby Maxine Hogsed, of Inman, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital.

Donald was born in Brunswick, Georgia, on February 23, 1940, to the late Guy Max and Roselle Mae Cole Hogsed. He retired after 40 years of dedicated service with Glyn C. Babb Paint Company.

Donald loved to travel, especially to the mountains. When he wasn’t traveling, he could often be found in his own personal heaven—the great outdoors. Whether hunting, fishing, or simply enjoying the beauty of nature, Donald was a true outdoorsman who found great joy in being outside. He was a member of Valley Falls Baptist Church.

In addition to his loving wife, Maxine, Donald is survived by his children, Donald Moore Hogsed, Jr. and his wife, Teresa, of Columbia; Kathy Diane Harris and her husband, Buddy, of Union; David Wayne Hogsed and his wife, Alison, of Boiling Springs, and James Guy Hogsed and his wife, Nancy, of Lyman. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and a sister, Brenda Jo Rogers of Knightdale, North Carolina.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM until 11:30 AM on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Eggers Funeral Home of Boiling Springs. A graveside service will follow at 12:00 PM at Good Shepherd Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be David Hogsed, James Hogsed, Donald Hogsed, Jr., Chase Hogsed, Joshua Hogsed, Colten Hogsed, Lee Gorrell, and Keith Gorrell.

Following the graveside service, the family will be glad to welcome friends at David’s home, located at 137 Springside Drive, Boiling Springs, SC 29316, for a time of remembrance and fellowship as they celebrate and pay tribute to a life well lived.
