Delbert Edgar "D.E" Byars

Delbart Edgar "D.E." Byars, age 96 of Spartanburg, SC, saw the face of his savior on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. D.E. was a native of Cleveland County, NC and the son to the late William Delbart Byars and the late Pearl Black Byars. He was the widower to the late Helen McKinney Byars. He was a US Navy veteran and a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Ellenboro, NC. D.E. will be remembered by his family as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

Survivors include his grandson James Hawk and brother Donald Byars and his wife Shirley.

In addition to his parents and wife, D.E. was preceded in death by his daughter Stephanie Hawk and his grandson's wife Kimmie Hawk.

The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at Eden Terrace in Spartanburg, SC for the wonderful care shown to D.E. during his stay there and wants them to know that he loved them all and always enjoyed their company.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 26, 2024 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm at Bethel Baptist Church in Ellenboro, NC. The memorial service will follow at 1:00pm at the church with Donald Byars, Reverend Robert Emory and Reverend Stephen Bright officiating. Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside, NC is serving the family.
