David Lee Earls

David Lee Earls "Speedy", age 74 of Mooresboro, NC, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2024 at Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills. He was born August 30, 1950 to the late Leophus and Pauline "Polly" Earls. He worked for Duke Energy Cliffside for over 25 years. He was a jack of all trades. He loved mowing grass, working in his yard, cooking, cutting wood, painting and remodeling. He was loved by many, and had a large friend circle. He was the life of the party, always had a smile on his face, and could make you laugh like no one else. In his later years he enjoyed eating at Strawberry Hill and Cracker Barrel in Gaffney every Thursday. He loved watching Andy Griffith with his wife every evening.

He is survived by his wife Deborah Padgett Earls of 52 years, his daughter Leeanne Camp (David), his granddaughters Lauren Camp and Kaylee Padgett (Garrett) all of Ellenboro, NC, a sister Harriet Abernethy (Max) of Wilmington, NC, a brother- in-law Keith Padgett (Denice)of Mooresboro, NC.

The family will receive friends from 12:30pm to 2:00pm on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at Eggers Funeral Home Cliffside, NC. A Celebration of life service will be held at 2:00pm in the A.C. McKinney Memorial Chapel at Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside, NC with Reverend Kevin Hamrick officiating. Family and friends will also be encouraged to share a memory about David if they would like. Interment of the urn will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park in Boiling Springs, NC. Memorials may be made to Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills at P.O. Box 336 Forest City, NC 28043 or Mt.
