Dannie Rae Lowe

Dannie Rae Lowe, age 74, of Spartanburg, SC went to be with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at his home after a long illness.  He was born on February 16, 1949, in Tusculum, TN.  Dannie was the husband of Janet Lockman Lowe for the past 49 years.

Dannie is survived by his two sons and daughter-in-laws; Matthew Ryan and Dana Lowe and Joshua Hugh and Laurie Lowe, two grandchildren that brought so much love and joy, Levi and Sadie Lowe, brother; Rickey and wife Lynell Lowe, sister; Tammy Finchum, brother-in-law; Don and wife Louise Lockman, several nephews and nieces and a host of friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James Edward Lowe and Mary Mayes Foulks, sisters, Sharon Mathis and Rhonda Seals. Grandparents; Bruce and Pearl Lowe and Ben and Mary Mayes, father and mother-in-law; Donald Lockman and Mildred Honeycutt Lockman Cooley.

Dannie joined the United States Marine Corps at the age of 17 and served three tours of duty in Vietnam.  He was a CID investigator and attended the FBI Academy to become a federal polygraph examiner.  He was a graduate of Drury College in Springfield, MO.  Upon being honorably discharged, he accepted employment in Spartanburg with Spartan Security.  Dannie retired as Vice President of Spartan Security/Diversco/ABM after 33 years.  He was a 32 degree Mason and member of the Scottish Rites-Valley of New Bern, NC.

Dannie truly loved tournament bass fishing and spent every weekend pursuing his dream of catching a big one.  He loved talking and being with all his fellow fishermen.  He never lost the desire to go fishing after his illness prevented him from going.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Eggers Funeral Home Chapel in Boiling Springs with the Rev. Troy White officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 30, 2023 from 7:00PM – 9:00PM at Eggers Funeral Home.
