Daisy Yvonne Cox Turner

Daisy Yvonne Cox Turner, 86, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, September 13, 2025.

Yvonne was born June 3, 1939, in High Point, NC, a daughter of the late Rosa Beck Cox and George C. Cox.  She was a member of Arrowwood Baptist Church. Yvonne owned a bakery in Mayo for a few years and worked as a switchboard operator for WSPA News.

She will be remembered as a wonderful storyteller whose words could captivate and bring joy to everyone around her.  She enjoyed shopping trips and had a deep love for animals, especially dogs.  One of her favorite pastimes was watching redbirds and deer from her home.  She often recorded these moments, sharing the beauty of nature through videos sent to her family.  She cherished her family and was affectionately known as "Punkin" to those who loved her most. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are sons, Greg S. Turner, and Kenneth E. Turner (Barbara); sisters, Joyce Tucker, Cheryl Berry (Steve), Phyllis Workman (Dallas), and Linda Gibson; brothers, George Cox (Peggy), Barry Cox, and Gary Cox (Carolyn); granddaughters, Kelsey Cox (Lucas), and Caitlin Davis (James); grandson, Blake Turner; great-grandchildren, Harper, Hudson, and Gatlin Cox, and Blair Bradford, and daughter-in-law, Virginia Blair.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Harold D. Turner; son, Michael Alan Turner; and sister, Josephine "Jo" Rickard.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 19, 2025, in the Chapel of Eggers Funeral Home of Chesnee with Rev. Larry Fleming officiating.

The family will receive friends on Friday at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
