Connie Sumner Brown

Connie S. Brown, age 77, widow of Cecil A. Brown, Jr., passed away Sunday, March 3, 2024, at her home.  Mrs. Brown was born July 30, 1946, in Union, South Carolina.

Connie retired from Headstart where she worked as a Parent Coordinator.  After her retirement, she worked as a substitute teacher for many years at Monarch Elementary School.  Connie was a member of Morningside Baptist Church.  She was an avid reader and enjoyed shopping.  Above all, Connie loved her family immensely and enjoyed spending time with them.

Connie is survived by her daughters, Nicole "Nikki" Brown Hill (Brian Coffey) of Wellford, Katelyn Brown of Union; granddaughter, Jessie Burchard (Mason) of Inman; great granddaughter, Laynee Burchard; nieces, Amie Mashburn of Jonesville, Kerri and Misty Brown of Union; nephew, Chad Brown of Union, brother-in-law, Rev. Ralph Brown (Janie) of Jonesville; and cousin Lib Williford.

In addition to her husband of 59 years, Connie was predeceased by her mother, Jessie Tucker Sumner; son, Scott A. Brown; sister, Sandra Mashburn, and brother, Sammy Sumner.

A joint memorial service will be held for Connie and Cecil at a later date.
