Claude Mitchell "Mitch" Bailey

Claude Mitchell "Mitch" Bailey, age 70 of Mooresboro, NC, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2022. He was born December 16, 1951 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Claude Junior Bailey and the late Alice Ruth Greene Bailey. Mitch was a US Army veteran serving in Germany during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Mooresboro, NC. Mitch was a jack of many trades as he loved to build anything out of scrap materials and tinkering with small engines. He loved old muscle cars, especially mustangs and he loved to make people laugh. Most of all Mitch will be remembered as a loving husband, father, paw paw, brother and a friend to all.

He is survived by his wife Debra Callahan Bailey of the home, sons; Rodney Callahan and his wife April and Hunter Bailey, daughters; Amber Vause and her husband Brian and Deanna Griffey and her husband Chris, brothers; Douglas Bailey, Stanley Bailey and his wife Diane, Phillip Bailey and his wife Joanne, Keith Bailey and his fiancé Sandy and Stewart Bailey and his wife Diane, sisters; Loretta Rhodes, Lorraine Moore and her husband David and Angela Atchley and her husband Wesley, grandchildren; Mitchell Bailey and his wife Miranda, Cody Bailey and his wife Teon, Wade Blanton and his wife Sydney, Dylan Griffey and his wife Autumn, Breanna Matheson and her husband Sean, John Tyler Carroll, Nick Burton, Michael Callahan, McKayla Callahan and Lily Ball and Jayson Vause, great grandchildren; Carson Bailey, Brinley Bailey, Nova Bailey and London Bailey.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his children Sherry Renee Bailey and Scottie Mitchell Bailey and granddaughter Morgan Renee Hodge.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 21, 2022 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm in the sanctuary at Trinity Baptist Church in Mooresboro, NC. The funeral service will follow at 1:00pm with Reverend Mike Frazier officiating. Interment will be in the Trinity Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors given by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. Online condolences may be made at www.eggersfuneralhome.com .
