Carrie was born on March 20, 1947. She was the daughter of the late Willie Romeo Johnson and Alice P. Hall Johnson of Chesnee, SC. She graduated from Chesnee High School in 1966.

Carrie was the co-founder of Christian Fellowship Ministries, serving at home and worldwide, including a kitchen in Nigeria, Africa which bears her name, "Carrie's Kitchen".

She faithfully attended church services which consisted of 35 years of Sunday Services without missing a service. She also taught children at Sunday School while making a difference in the lives under her guidance.

Carrie was known by many as "the most godly lady" they had ever known. She was a faithful and diligent homemaker for her husband of 58 years and their three sons. A grandmother that her grandchildren loved and honored.

She was an avid yardsaler who graciously interacted with those she met and enjoyed finding treasures while spending time with her family.

Carrie is survived by her husband of 58 years, Charles Frank Cooper; three sons, Chuck Cooper of Boiling Springs, SC, Jeff Cooper of Chesnee, SC, and Tylaur Cooper of Chesnee, SC; five grandchildren, Jackson Cooper, Mackenzie Cooper, Laken Cooper, Hudson Cooper, and Allie-Grace Cooper, all of Chesnee, SC; three sisters, Louvini Scruggs of Chesnee, SC, Marie Blanchards of Mooresboro, NC, and Catherine Burke of Spartanburg, SC; as well as one brother, Roger Johnson of Spartanburg, SC.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Lynn Cooper; four brothers; and two sisters.

The family would like to give special thanks to those who cared for Carrie in the home: Marie Blanchard, Juanita Rosas, Cindy DeLuna Rosas, and Rebecca Gwyn.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at Christian Fellowship Ministries, 7050 Parris Bridge Rd., Chesnee, SC 29323. The family will receive friends at the church, from 1:00pm until 2:30pm, prior to the service.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
