Carol Jean Green

Carol Jean Green, lovingly known as "Jean", passed away on May 2, 2026, at the age of 81. She was born on June 15, 1944, and lived a life rooted in faith, love, and generosity.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Barker and Evelyn Barker; her husband, Furman Green; her brothers, Robert Barker and Larry Barker; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.

Her heart was especially devoted to her family. She cherished her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren deeply. Jean was the kind of person who gave freely—if she had something and someone needed it, it was theirs without hesitation. Her kindness and selflessness defined her life.

She is survived by her children: John McAbee (spouse April Hawkins), Donna Satterfield, and Robert McAbee. Jean's legacy continues through her 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, along with many extended family members and friends who loved her dearly.

Jean had a deep love for church and found joy in simple pleasures—taking rides, sharing conversations, and spending time with others. She was known for her warm, sociable nature and her ability to connect with anyone. Jean truly never met a stranger; she loved to talk about everything and anything, and her presence brought comfort and laughter to those around her.

Jean will be remembered for her caring spirit, her love of fellowship, and the way she made everyone feel welcome. Her life was a testament to love, generosity, and faith, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 8, 2026 at Momentum Church.
