Burles Wood

Burles Wood, 95, of Spartanburg, South Carolina passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024.

Mr. Wood was born in Jackson, North Carolina on July 25, 1929 to the late Henry Wood and Naomi Wood.

Burles was a member of Fairview Free Will Baptist Church. He was a proud veteran of the United Stated Army and served in the Vietnam War, as well as the Korean Conflict.

Left to cherish his memory is his son, Richard Wood; son, Allain Wood (Rhonda), their son, Travis Wood (Lauren), and their children, Colton and Rhett Wood, and Allain and Rhonda's daughter, Ashley Wood Jackson (Larry), and their children, Harper and Jasper Jackson; daughter, Terri Miiler (Brian), and their daughter, Deanna Miller.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Mary Westbrook Wood.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00PM on Friday, August 2, 2024 at Fairview Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Tim Hackett officiating, and Eddie Phelps speaking. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 11:00AM until 12:00PM at the church.

Interment will follow at Springhill Memorial Gardens.
