Bruce Wayne Dixon

Wayne Dixon, age 70 of Cliffside, NC, died Thursday, April 13, 2023 at his residence. He is the son of the late Alton Dixon and the late Marjorie Spears Dixon. He was a graduate of Chase High School. He worked in textiles most of his life. He was an avid NASCAR fan and attended many races over the years. He also loved going camping and you could find him there most weekends and every chance he got. He loved riding his golfcart around the campground making his "rounds" visiting friends throughout the campground. He loved to joke and kid around with everyone and made friends everywhere he went.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Jack Dixon, Robert Dixon, George Dixon and Calvin Dixon.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 48 years, Kathy Burgess Dixon, daughters Terrie Adams (Steve), Candy Owens (Michael), Amie Moore (Bryan).

3 brothers Gene Dixon, Steve Dixon, Pat Dixon, 2 sisters Diane Willis and Brenda Lister.

He has 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. And a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Monday, April 17, 2023 from 12:30pm to 2:00pm at Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside, NC. The funeral service will follow at 2:00pm in the A.C. McKinney Memorial Chapel at Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside, NC with Reverend Dennis Hurdt officiating. Burial will follow in the Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside, NC is serving the family.
