Brenda Porter Newton

Brenda Porter Newton, age 71 of Ellenboro, NC, passed away Monday, September 22, 2025 at the Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills in Forest City, NC. She was born November 11, 1953 in Rutherford County, NC to the late James Porter and the late Ora Biggerstaff Porter. Brenda loved watching Netflix, playing bingo and going fishing. She will be remembered by her family and friends as a loving mother, grandmother and sister.

Brenda is survived by three sisters; Diane Hoppes, Shirley Hoppes and Sandra Howard, grandchildren; Amega Newton and Andrel "Bubba" Newton along with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by one daughter Dawn Andrea Newton and one son Danny Andrew Newton, two brothers; James and Richard Porter.

The family will hold private service for Brenda at a later date.
