Brenda Joyce Mcswain Bridges

Brenda Joyce McSwain Bridges, 84, went to live with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in her eternal home on September 22, 2024, in Cleveland County, NC. Born on January 27, 1940, Brenda was a lifelong resident of Cleveland County, NC. She was the daughter of the late Yates McSwain and Nellie Beason McSwain.  Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Gene Bridges.  Brenda and Bobby married on September 30, 1960.  Brenda graduated from Mooresboro High School in 1958 and went on to lead a fulfilling life as a wife, mother, and grandmother.  She was employed as a cloth cutter at textile companies, including Buster Brown, Absorba, and Artex. A member of Trinity Baptist Church in Mooresboro, NC., Brenda's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She found great solace and joy in her church family. Brenda was a beloved and cherished wife, mother, and nana.

She is survived by her children, Kelly Bridges Collum and her husband Jeff, Kevin Bridges and his wife Amy, and Kristi Bridges Sparks; her grandchildren, Ashton Willis and her husband Brett, Madison Bridges, Isaac Bridges, and Kinley Sparks; and great-grandsons, Preston Dayberry and Killian Willis; her cousin and best friend Martha Toney and her husband James; her niece, Rita Bridges; and her great-niece, Nicole Bridges.

A memorial service to celebrate Brenda's life will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 11:00 am at Trinity Baptist Church in Mooresboro, NC with Rev. Mike Frazier officiating. Following the service, the family will receive friends at a celebratory reception in the church fellowship hall until 1:00 pm. Interment will take place at Cleveland Memorial Park at 1:30 pm. The family is blessed and thankful to their friends and the Trinity Baptist Church family for their support and prayers during Brenda's illness.
