Brandon Nelson Rice

Brandon Nelson "Toes" "Brat" Rice, age 31 of Monticello, FL, passed away Monday, February 12, 2024 in Monticello, FL. He was born March 2, 1992 in Easley, SC to Billy Nelson Rice and Beverly Cooper Owensby. Brandon had spent the last several years as a commercial and residential garage door installer. He was known \as being an honest, courageous, hard working family man. To his close friends and family, he was a comedian who loved to shoot guns and spend time at the lake, the beach and the river to relax. Most of all he will be remembered as a loving son, father, brother, uncle and boyfriend.

Brandon is survived by his father Billy Nelson Rice and his wife Elizabeth, his mother Beverly Owensby and her husband Dennis, his daughter Baylie Rice, his longtime girlfriend Marianna Karanikolas, siblings; Adam Owensby and his wife Natalia, Tabitha Rice, Justin Rice, Zachery Parton and his wife Lisa and Lucas Owensby, step grandparents; Ron Mauney, Patricia and Wayne Weathers, Earl and Sandra Owensby, two nephews; Matthew and Samuel Girdler and many extended family members.

Brandon was preceded in death by his brother Timothy Nelson Rice, his sister Samantha Nicole Rice, paternal grandfather Melbert Rice and his wife Carolyn , paternal grandmother Joyce Ramsey Rice, maternal grandparents Roy Glenn Baynard and Frances Baynard, and biological maternal grandmother Ola Shytle.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Drury Dobbins Baptist Church from 2:00pm to 3:00pm. The funeral service will be at 3:00pm at Drury Dobbins Baptist Church with Reverend Trent Jones officiating. Burial will follow at the Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside, NC is serving the family.
