Bonnie Elaine Seay Emory

On the 16th day of March, 2024 Bonnie Elaine Emory (Seay), 82, a native of Spartanburg, SC, and member of Fairview Baptist church, ran into the loving arms of our savior Jesus Christ.

Bonnie is survived by her sister, Carol Easler of Boiling Springs, SC; her daughter, Tracy (Tom) Olson of Bronson, MI; her grandchildren: Mitchell (Emily) Warren of Spokane, WA; Kenneth (Rachel) Warren of Concord, MI; and Joshua (Sydney) Warren of Moncks Corner, SC; and her great-grandchildren: Peyton Warren, Abel Warren, Kasey Warren, Sarah Warren, Lily Warren, and Bridger Warren.

Born on June 23rd, 1941 in Spartanburg, SC to Harold and Leila Seay, Bonnie, known to many as "Granny," spent the majority of her life there. She got married at the young age of 19 to her husband of 35 years, Mitch. In her earlier years she enjoyed caring for her mother, frequently shopping with her sister, and serving her home church, Fairview Baptist, in the toddler room. After the passing of her mother, she had taken a job at CVS to fill her time, where many customers would only shop on days when she was working. As a show of her resilience Bonnie thwarted two attempted robberies at work.

Shortly after the culmination of her husband's (H. Mitchell) passing in 1996 and a stroke, she moved to Frankfort, IL, into the home of her daughter's family.  She lived with them for the majority of her later life. There, Bonnie served as an in-home granny to her three grandchildren, Mitchell, Kenneth, and Joshua, as well as many other visitors. She enjoyed grocery shopping at her favorite store, Jewel-Osco, spoiling herself and others with meals from fast food restaurants, and could often be found in her spare time watching murder mysteries, singing competitions such as American Idol, and televised sermons. During the holidays she was known for her highly anticipated dishes of mashed potatoes and mac and cheese.  Whenever the family moved, she went with them, getting to experience life in different parts of Michigan and Washington. Bonnie is to be remembered for her faith in Jesus, kind heart, and occasionally sassy attitude.

Bonnie is now reunited with her parents, Harold W. and Leila Webb Seay; her husband, H. Mitchell Emory; her sisters, Peggy Seay and Linda Hammett; her brother, Danny Seay; and son-in-law, Kasey Warren.

Graveside service will be held at Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery, 1551 Bryant Rd., Spartanburg, SC on Saturday, March 30th at 1:00 pm. The family will be available one hour prior to the service. The family asks to be kept in your prayers during this bittersweet moment of transition.
