Bobby Lee Calvert

Bobby Lee Calvert, 90, of Boiling Springs, passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025. Born June 24, 1935, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, he was a son of the late James M. Calvert and Venie Lee Glasson Calvert. He was the widower of Margie C. Calvert, the love of his life. Bobby and Margie shared a remarkable 70 years together, a lifetime filled with love, laughter, and adventure.

Bobby was a proud U.S. Air Force veteran, serving his country with honor during the Vietnam War. He loved the opportunity to travel with the Air Force and often joked that Margie would not let him retire because she wanted their adventures to continue. Germany held a special place in their hearts; it was their favorite assignment and later one of their favorite places to revisit together.

Over the years, Bobby amassed an impressive collection of Hummel figurines and beer steins, a testament to his appreciation for German culture. He fully embraced the traditions and cuisine, even wanting his granddaughter to call him "Opa," but she had different plans.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers; Howard Calvert, Luke Calvert, Junior Calvert, and Bill Calvert, sisters; Alice Splawn, and Myrtle Nation, as well as two sets of infant twin siblings.

He is survived by his son, Charles Calvert (Heather); granddaughter Delenah Calvert (Lucas Barrett); along with numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will hold a receiving of friends on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Carlisle Wesleyan Church from 4:00PM until 6:00PM.

Inurnment will be private.
