Billy Julius Riggs

Billy J. Riggs  passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, January 5, 2025. He was born February 17, 1942,  in Spartanburg, SC, a son of the late J.C. Riggs and Edith Hayes Crowe. He retired from Spartanburg Steel, was a member of Carolina Baptist Church in Spartanburg, SC, and served in the US Army National Guard.

Mr. Riggs is survived by his wife of 63 years, Becky  Riggs; daughter, Julie Riggs;  granddaughter, Faith Williford (Jeffrey); great-grandson, Logan Williford; two brothers, Larry Riggs and Phillip Riggs (Vonda); sister, Cissi Riggs; numerous nieces and nephews; and his "granddog", Jango.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Furman Simmons and James Simmons.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, in the Chapel of Eggers Funeral Home of Boiling Springs with Rev. Mark Williamson and Rev. Dr. Kenneth Cash officiating.

Interment will be at Good Shepherd Memorial Park.
