Billy Dean Honeycutt

Billy Dean Honeycutt, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and member of the Broad River community in Rutherfordton, NC, passed away on February 24, 2024, at the age of 88. He was born on July 9, 1935, to Bernice Henderson Honeycutt and William Saul Honeycutt.

Billy is survived by his devoted children, Michael Honeycutt (Nikki), Darron Honeycutt (Renee), Darlene Honeycutt, and Krystal Honeycutt Gosnell (Travis), his cherished grandchildren, Jayme Roper, Chad Roper, Kelli Collier, Caelan Lissone, Jude White, Alayna White, Isabella Lissone, Alex Harris and Adam Harris and his great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Lyda Honeycutt, his former wife, Kay Rowe Honeycutt, his children, Morris Dillard Honeycutt and Shelia Honeycutt Freeman, his mother, Bernice Henderson Honeycutt, and his father, William Saul Honeycutt.

Billy dedicated 42 years of his life to Stonecutter Mills, where he served as the manager of warehouse logistics. His commitment and hard work left a lasting impression on his colleagues and the company.

An active member of Masonic Lodge #91 in Rutherfordton, NC, Billy embodied the principles of fraternity and community service. He was deeply rooted in the Broad River community, where he was respected and admired by everyone who knew him.

Billy loved hunting and fishing, working on his farm, tending to his garden, and raising cattle, but above all else, Billy's greatest love was his family. He was a proud father and cherished every moment spent with his children and grandchildren, instilling in them the values of hard work, integrity, and love.

Billy Dean Honeycutt will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his steadfast work ethic, and his profound impact on the community he called home. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and resilience that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.

A memorial service to celebrate Billy's life will be held on Tuesday, February 27, at Eggers Funeral Home in Chesnee, SC, with visitation from 12:00 pm until 1:45 pm, and the funeral service at 2:00 pm.
